Description

Building upon the legacy of our flagship DART camera, the MeltView® DART2 delivers a more compact design coupled with 3x higher resolution. Engineered to withstand harsh industrial welding conditions, this ruggedized camera can image all open-arc welding processes and is ideal for applications including column and boom setups, seamers, and and pipe joining.

Equipped with an exterior focusing mechanism, the DART2 allows for optimal operation at versatile working distances ranging from 100mm to 400mm (4” to 16”), giving operators the flexibility needed to fine-tune welding videos and accommodate the imaging demands of variable set-ups.

Like other MeltView® SDI Direct-Display welding cameras, the DART2 utilizes High-Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging to capture both the blinding intensity of the welding arc and the critical details of the surrounding weld pool with high resolution.

  • Seamless Transitions: The camera automatically switches between arc-on and arc-off modes.
  • Direct-to-Monitor Viewing: Operators can directly monitor the weld at 1920 x 1080 HD resolution. No separate computer or software is required.
  • Near-Zero Latency: HD-SDI output provides a direct-to-monitor setup for immediate, real-time operator feedback.

The DART2 is designed for high-temperature, harsh welding conditions. Featuring integrated protection, lighting, and cooling options, the camera can operate in temperatures reaching up to 300°C (570°F). The DART2 is ideal for GMAW, FCAW, GTAW and PAW.

Frequently Asked Questions

We recommend a monochrome image for the clearest image across all welding processes. A color image is sometimes preferred for TIG welding / GTAW, since TIG is relatively simple to image and color can provide information about the weld.
Without cooling, the DART2 operates safely up to 50°C (122°F). When utilizing the integrated water and air knife cooling options, it can withstand extreme environments up to 300°C (570°F).
No. Our HD-SDI camera line features a direct-to-monitor setup, providing 1920 x 1080 resolution feed with near-zero latency, eliminating the need for a PC or software. A MeltView® camera controller is required to interface with and power the camera.
Yes. The DART2 welding camera is also offered in a smaller, specialized camera body known as the DART2 Mini for tighter clearance requirements.
