The MeltView HT25 is a short wave infrared (SWIR) thermal imaging camera designed for defect detection during the welding process and cooling stages. The camera leverages SWIR technology to monitor the weld through smoke and spatter, effectively reducing arc interference to visualize thermal dynamics. This thermal data is essential for monitoring and identifying abnormal cooling patterns in welding applications, such as additive manufacturing, where multi-dimensional thermal monitoring of the weld is ideal.

To ensure simple robotic welding cell implementation, the MeltView® HT25 utilizes a compact, single camera body that connects directly to a MeltView® DAQ camera controller. This streamlined design eliminates the need for auxiliary accessories during setup. To provide high-resolution, real-time monitoring and recording, the system utilizes a standard Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) interface for low-latency connectivity and is fully GenICam compliant.

• GenICam Compliant: The HT25 camera is GenICam compliant, meaning it can interface with MeltTools’ AI Edgewise or with a customer-developed AI software system that uses this universal programming standard for machine vision and industrial cameras. This allows the camera system to be easily integrated into welding cells that are already set up or to create a new AI for welding defect detection.
• High-Speed Capture: With high-speed imaging capabilities reaching up to 249 fps (model dependent), the camera ensures that rapid, micro-second thermal transients not visible to the human eye are captured and analyzed.
• Low Latency: Using GigE interface, the HT25 camera has <150ms latency for real-time monitoring and processing.

Weighing approximately 350g (0.77 lbs) and measuring a compact 36 x 72.5 x 110mm, the small design makes the HT25 an ideal welding camera solution where space is a priority. The camera is built to be durable in harsh conditions. Equipped with an integrated gas knife and water cooling channels, the HT25 is capable of operating in manufacturing environments with temperatures reaching up to 200°C (392°F). The HT25 is ideal for GMAW, GTAW, PAW and LBW.
