Pulsed Gas Metal Arc Welding

MeltView® SYNC High Speed Camera

MeltView® SYNC high speed welding camera video of pulsed GMAW round corner

The MeltView® SYNC camera mounts to the welding torch to capture the welding process continually at high speeds, up to 1300 frames per second as shown here. This video shows pulsed GMAW, with a droplet transfer rate of about one droplet per pulse. The puddle dynamics of the molten metal are easy to observe, including the flow of the metal as the torch rounds a corner.

The MeltView® SYNC camera is a customized camera solution, unique in the market as it is small yet with a fast enough frame rate (up to 1300 frames per second) to observe process detail.
