This video demonstrates a vertical-up steel groove joint using manual metal arc welding (MMAW), performed by Mikey from Weld United. Mikey successfully completed the root and second heat passes and is currently working on the fill pass. By recording the entire welding process, instructors can effectively show students proper welding techniques and solutions to challenges that can arise during welding, proving highly beneficial for skill development.
The video footage for this analysis was captured using multiple MeltTools products, including the MeltView® APEX3 camera for welding education, the RAD8 illumination system, and two PROWatch cameras for overview imaging.
