MeltViewTM APEX3 MMAW SMAW stick welding fillet joint

Presented here is the MeltView APEX3 camera kit for welding education during a MMAW and SMAW stick fillet joint weld.

The APEX3 is our third generation MeltView camera specifically created for welding education and training. The APEX3 is offered as a single camera or part of a welding education kit which includes torch mount and bench mount options for visualizing GMAW, GTAW, MMAW, SMAW and FCAW as well as other bright metal processes such as oxyfuel cutting. With 1920x1080 resolution and the choice between color and monochrome imaging, the APEX3 provides an excellent, close up image of welding for your students or trainees.

SMAW welding

SMAW stick welding, also known as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), is a manual welding technique that uses a consumable electrode coated in flux to create the weld. This process is widely used in various industries for its simplicity and effectiveness in producing high-quality welds and because of this needs to be taught and shared in an efficient manner. The APEX3 is ideal when visualizing this welding technique because of the option to place the camera on the torch or bench mount and the ability to live-stream or share the video to trainers and welding students.
