MeltView cameras designed to image welding are suitable for a variety of bright metals processes, such as oxy fuel cutting, recorded with the MeltView APEX2 camera by welding instructor Chris Champagne at Santa Teresa High School, New Mexico. The camera displays a clear, high resolution image before and during cutting. In this video, the bright molten metal stands out, and a reflection of the molten metal is visible after cutting begins, until the piece drops away. This video is made for instructional purposes. In manufacturing environments, customers mount the MeltView camera to the long oxy fuel cutting torch to distance the operator from the torch end for healthy and safety reasons.
MeltView APEX3
The APEX2 has been replaced by the MeltView APEX3. The APEX3 offers the same qualities as its predecessor while adding a higher resolution with real time imaging. The APEX3 is offered in a welding education kit containing items needed to teach welding in a classroom setting and as the individual camera.
