A client developing a customized initiation sequence for GMAW needed a method to observe the effects of parameter changes as the arc is initially established. A typical high speed camera is too cumbersome for this task and a typical welding camera can't observe the required detail as the events occur too fast.
The MeltView SYNC camera is a customized camera solution, unique in the market as it is small enough to fit on a robot yet with fast enough frame rate (up to 1300 frames per second) to observe process detail. Recording may be triggered by events from the robot or another sensor, and the recorded video can now be paired with a data acquisition system to compare measured voltage and current (currently 12kHZ) with the observed video.
